Order Entry Error - Invalid input. Negative inventory (6 replies)

I need to post orders that use new items that have yet to be received in Sage 300.  However, when I attempt to post the order I receive the following error:

"1024 - Invalid input. Negative inventory levels are not allowed for item ZZZTEST at location 525."

I have the IC option set to NOT allow negative inventory.  I am able to post an order manually in Order Entry for this item without any problem.  I am only trying to post the order.  I am not shipping or invoicing the order.

-Thanks

Michael, I know this may sound stupid, but can you check the mapping to ensure Quantity Shipped is not being set.

I am setting the Quantity Shipped field since some orders that have quantity on-hand are supposed to be auto-shipped/invoiced which relates to my other post. However, I am setting the quantity shipped to "0" for orders I do not have inventory on-hand to fulfill the order.  Do I need to use two separate connectors even if I set the Quantity Shipped to 0 for orders that I am not shipping/invoicing?  Should I have one connector have all the auto-ship/invoice orders filtered through it and then have a separate connector for those orders which will only have the order posted?  Not a dumb question at all, I would start with that as well.  I should have clarified that in my original post.

-Thanks again

Michael, my thoughts are that you're trying to ship a line where there's insufficient quantity.

Will discuss when we look at the invoicing freeze issue.

Thanks

I was unable to resolve the issue without turning on negative inventory.  Writing records to the ICILOC table worked for the new items that I know have 0 quantity on-hand (since they will be "received" in AutoSimply Manufacturing), however, the error occurs even for items that have quantities in the system.  I have turned on negative inventory for now.  Do you know if there will be an update to resolve this issue?  Or is this an issue unique to the installation?  I have the option checked to allow items at all locations.

Thanks

Michael, apologies for the delay....we're unable to replicate the issue where an item already has an ICILOC record.

I think the issue is almost definitely related to the missing ICILOC record for new items.
