We don't pretty print Xml.
The carriage returns are noise. If you need to pretty print, do that in a text editor or an online service.

I am using xml writer and it creates a reasonable-looking xml file but there are no CR or LF characters at the ends of the lines. How should I cause the xml writer to add or characters?
