Scenario¶
Order Entry import from web based order system.
Aims¶
The aim is to import orders and customers from an Excel file into Sage 200. You will learn how to:
- Set up a file-based data source.
- Sequence multiple transforms to manipulate data within IMan before it enters its target application.
- Write simple expressions in the formula evaluator in the Map, Filter and Aggregate transforms.
- Set up the Sage 200 connectors to import data.
- Set up and use IMan’s auditing and error handling.
- Use the writer transforms to export data from any application to a variety of data formats. The training creates an order status file to feed back to the web order entry system.
- Upload a file with the FTP Task and archive processed files with the File Task.
Prerequisites¶
- IMan is installed and running.
- Sage 200 is set up and working with IMan (see Sage 200 Connector Setup).
- If you have not used IMan before, work through the Quick Start guide and the integration walkthroughs before you start the training.
Follow the steps in order; there are gotchas
Read each part carefully and follow it in order. A missed step or a wrong setting causes problems in later steps.
Estimated Time¶
The initial training takes about a day to work through on your own. You can do the homework steps once you have finished the initial training.
