Install System Prerequisites¶
This section describes the system software and Windows components that the installation enables.
For live deployments, Realisable strongly recommends installing IMan on a Windows Server product (2019, 2022 or 2025).
Small Business Server and Essential Server are not supported
IMan does not support Windows Small Business Server or Windows Essential Server.
Server Virtualisation¶
The virtualisation software IMan supports, and the processor setting to check on Hyper-V and VMware.
Database Requirements & Support¶
IMan needs a small SQL Server database to store its log data and settings.
IMan Client Requirements¶
IMan's workstation and web browser requirements.
.NET Framework Requirements¶
IMan's services run on .NET 8, which the installer adds. IMan still needs .NET Framework 4.8 as well. The installer uses it to initialise IMan's licence, and the Sage 200 connector runs on it.
Windows Server 2022 and 2025, Windows 11, and Windows 10 from version 1903 include .NET Framework 4.8. On Windows Server 2012, 2016 or 2019, install it before you install IMan. The installer does not check for it.
What the Installer Adds¶
The installer turns on the IIS features IMan needs. When they are missing, it also installs:
- the Microsoft .NET 8 Hosting Bundle and the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime (x86);
- the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64), for the Message Broker.
It then sets up the Message Broker, IMan's own RabbitMQ service. You do not need to turn on Windows Message Queuing. See IMan Architecture.
