Shaping Data - Introduction

These cookbook articles are step-by-step recipes for the middle of an integration: the transforms that sit between a Reader and a Writer and change the shape of the dataset rather than its source or destination.

They are worked examples, not reference. The transforms themselves are described in the User Guide.

Articles

  • Field to Row Transposition
    • How to transpose two or more fields into rows, so that a set of columnar values ends up on a single field. Chains a Hierarchy, a Map, an Aggregate and a Flatten, and says why at each step.
  • Using Lookups for Settings & Defaults
    • How to store settings and default values used across different integrations, and how to recall them.
  • Preventing Duplicate Transactions
    • How to stop a re-run, or the same data arriving twice, from writing a transaction the target already has, with a Lookup and a Filter.
