Bundles¶
The Bundles push records which variants make up a bundle, and how many of each. A bundle is a variant that the store sells as a set of other variants, its components.
On a push connector, select Bundles as the Shopify Import Type.
The push writes the bundle into variant metafields in the custom namespace:
| Metafield | On | Holds |
|---|---|---|
component_reference |
the bundle's variant | its component variants, as a list of variant references |
component_quantities |
the bundle's variant | the quantity of each component, in the same order |
component_parents |
each component variant | the bundles the variant belongs to, with their components and quantities |
A bundle function or app on the store reads these metafields and expands the bundle into its components at checkout. The push only records the bundle. Shopify needs such a function or app to act on it.
Records¶
| Record | Under | Fields |
|---|---|---|
| Bundle | Variant Id or Global Id, the bundle's variant | |
| Component | Bundle | Child Variant Id or Global Id, a component variant, and Quantity, how many of it the bundle holds |
Each id can be a numeric id or a gid.
Creating and Updating¶
Each push of a bundle replaces its components and quantities. Each component then lists the bundle in its component_parents once, with the bundle's current components and quantities.
The push uses Shopify's REST Admin API, and writes each metafield as its own request.
Access Scopes¶
The push needs write_products. See Access Scopes.
