X3 User Setup

It is recommended to setup a separate user for IMan and assign the necessary roles and access required to post the data to be imported by IMan.

Webservices Pool Setup (V6.x, V7, PU8)

In order to connect to X3 it is first necessary to setup a webservice pool. This is performed through the SAFE X3 V1 Management Console.

Please note this step does not need to be performed for PU9 and upwards.

  1. Open the Management Console and go to the Web Servers section.
  2. Click Webservices & expand and find the Sage X3 Instance and Folder you wish to create the webervice pool.
  3. Press the Add Button to create a new pool.

  1. In the grid at the bottom enter the following:

Parameter

Value

pool.def.alias

A unique value to identify the webservice pool. This value will be used when setting up the connection within IMan (detailed in the following section).

pool.def.language

Can be any language; not used presently by IMan.

pool.def.userid

The X3 user id.

pool.def.password

The password corresponding to the userid parameter.

pool.def.osuserid

A window (or operating system password) for the webservice pool to use.

pool.def.ospassword

The password corresponding to the osuerid parameter.

pool.def.maxpoolsize

The maximum number of simultaneous incoming connections the connection pool can execute.

We recommend this be set to the number of IMan jobs which could be running at once + 1 (for the Data Preview service).

  1. Press the Apply button to save the webservice pool.
