Transform Setup Tab
In the Transform Setup Tab you find the graphical design interface. This is the user-friendly template where the integration really starts to take shape. The layout and sequence of the transforms defines the Transform Execution & Data Flow.
The screen is divided into two sections: the palette and the design surface.
Design > Transform Setup
Transform Palette
Located on the left hand side of the design tab is the transform palette. Nodes from the palette are added to a job by dragging the relevant icon onto the design surface. The palette is segmented into five transform types:
-
Data Transforms
- The transforms modify, manipulate and shape the data. This palette also includes the transform Connector and the Annotation.
-
Readers
- Transforms which can act as the input data for an integration. These include reading of different data formats, databases and Connectors which can query from an application or service.
-
Connectors
- The application connector transforms. Connector provide the ability to 'push' data into an application or service.
-
Writers
- The writer transforms generate data files/write to raw data formats/write to webservices.
-
Tasks
- Non data-related or workflow transforms, such as Email, FTP/SSH or File activities.
Design Surface
The integration is created and maintained on the design surface. The design surface is the interface where the data flow sequence is defined. The design of the integration is manipulated by adding/modifying/deleting transforms .
-
Adding/Deleting/Moving Transforms
- Describes how to add, delete and connect transforms.
-
Annotations
- To help self-document the integration shaded regions with notes can be added.
-
Modifying Existing Transform Logic
- See how to add transforms in between existing transforms.
-
Zoom & Large Integration Tips
- Zooming and tips for working with integrations containing large number of transforms.
-
Transform Node Hover
- When you hover over a transform the Transform Id, Transform Type and the Description/Comment will be displayed.
